Users who
have the role of moderators can control and/or supervise the
content published with the different tools available to a
portal or a group. Another important function assigned to
moderators is to stimulate the activity.
Each e-Catalunya tool requires a different level of moderation.
What's it for?
The following
list summarises the functions exercised by moderators for
each tool:
Photograph album: there is no moderation for this tool, since all the members of the group have the same visibility and interaction privileges in the Photograph album (basically to add or delete photographs).
Blog: moderators can modify or delete posts and comments by other members of the group. The blog can be configured so that only moderators (and, by extension, administrators) can add new posts and comments.
Calendar: group moderators can post new events on the calendar and modify or delete existing events. The calendar can be configured so that only moderators (and, by extension, administrators) can add new events and comments on events.
Repository: group moderators can create and delete files and folders. Group members can only upload files.
Forum: if the forum is configured as "moderated", moderators can control the posting of comments made by different users or members of the group.
E-mail list: moderators (and, by extension, administrators) can send messages using the News list and Group list. Other members of the group can only send messages via the Group list.
Mailroom: moderators can manage posts and contributions by other users. Only administrators can set up new projects.
Wiki: Wiki is not moderated.
These functions are always subject to the properties with which a particular tool has been created and defined.
How do I use it?
