What is it?

It lets users of a portal assign tools to themselves and edit their properties.

 
What's it for?

To determine which tools of your own you want to use in each portal and who you want to be able to see them and/or add contributions and comments.

 
How do I use it?

1- Go to Personal zone> Own content > Tool management.

2- When you are in the Manage user tools section, choose from the pulldown menu the tool you want from those which are available (as established by the portal administrator) and then click on the New tool button. The maximum number of tools available to users is three: Blog, Calendar and Wiki.

3- You will then see a screen where you can set the properties of the new tool, who can see it, who can post comments, etc. The default setting for visibility is Private, which means that only the user can see the tool and its content.
