Logo Eines How to manage different versions of a Wiki document
What is it?

This option allows you to edit a wiki document and manage diferent versions of it. Bear in mind that a Wiki document can be edited collectively, which means that the documents will be:

•  Edited by different authors

•  Repeatedly modified

What's it for?

For controlling changes made to a document and keeping a record of the changes from one version to another. This is safe and convenient, allowing you to monitor what changes have taken place, in case you need to undo them and go back to a previous version. All the changes are saved in chronological order and are given a "version" name.

How do I use it?

a) To list different versions of a document

1- Go to the Wiki. If the Wiki belongs to the portal, select it using the Tools option in the menu on the left hand side of the portal's main page. If it belongs to a group, go to Groups > Group > Contents > Wiki. If it is your own personal Wiki, go to Personal zone > Own contents > Wiki. Go to the document you are interested in.

2- Click on the History option.

3- This shows the different versions of the document, with the name of the person who edited the document and the date and time.

b) If you want to compare different versions of the document

1- Choose the two versions you want to compare and click on the box beside each version of the document.

2- From the pull-down menu choose Compare normal view or Compare source code and then click on Compare versions. You will see the two versions of the document.
